RECIPE: Red Wine-Infused Dark Chocolate Truffles

Discover how to make rich, decadent red wine dark chocolate truffles. A simple recipe combining bold wine flavor with smooth dark chocolate for a gourmet treat. 

Ingredients 

  • 7 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped 
  • ½ cup heavy cream 
  • ¼ cup red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot works well) 
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter 
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting) 

Optional Enhancements:
Add a pinch of sea salt for contrast.
Coat in melted chocolate for a glossy shell.
Sprinkle with freeze-dried raspberries for a fruity twist.
 

Instructions 

  1. Heat the cream 
    In a small saucepan, warm the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil. 
  1. Add chocolate 
    Remove from heat and add chopped dark chocolate. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. 
  1. Incorporate wine & butter 
    Stir in red wine and butter until fully combined and glossy. 
  1. Chill the mixture 
    Pour into a shallow dish and refrigerate for 2–3 hours until firm enough to scoop. 
  1. Shape truffles 
    Scoop small portions and roll into balls using your hands. 
  1. Dust with cocoa 
    Roll each truffle in cocoa powder for a classic finish.
